Protein Can Help You Build Muscle

This year it is time to make a resolution that you can stick to. Stop focusing on trying to lose weight and instead focus on trying to eat healthier foods and staying in shape. The healthier you eat the more weight you will lose.
When it comes to eating healthy you have to know what to eat and what to stay away from. Most people don’t know that one of the crucial types of foods that people should eat is protein. Before you can eat protein you have to know what protein is and how much you should eat.
So what is protein? Protein is one of the most important basic food groups that the human body needs to live off of. It is close to 16% of a person’s total body weight. This is a large part of making sure that all cells in our bodies remain strong and healthy. Also many of the chemicals in our bodies’ that include the hormones, enzymes, DNA, and neurotransmitters are partly made up of protein.
While our bodies do have the ability to recycle protein it is also something that our bodies will burn easily and fast. That is why we need to make sure that we eat the foods that will help to replace it back into our bodies.
Protein in our bodies is made up of amino acids. Because our bodies may not have the ability to produce enough amino acids, we need to make sure that we eat the foods that will include it. Meat, eggs, and dairy products have the amino acids that our bodies need.
The amount of protein that our bodies require depends on how old we are, how big or small we are, and how much exercise we get everyday. Nutritionists believe that the minimum amount of protein someone should receive everyday should be multiplied time the bodies weight in pounds by .37.
When someone does not receive the right amount of protein that their bodies need the muscles will begin to break down. This happens because the body does not have many places to store it like it can with fat. Eat the right foods everyday and the right amount of protein and you will see those muscles building instead of drooping.
