Symptoms of Type 1 & Type 2 Diabetes.
While symptoms of diabetes are sometimes noticeable, diabetes can also come without any clear signs at all. There are an estimated 5.7 million people (almost 25% of those with diabetes in the United States) who are unaware they have the disease. The National Institute of Health states that the the symptoms of diabetes “often” are not there with the type 2 version of diabetes.

Symptoms that are applicable to type 1 ( juvenile diabetes ) and type 2 diabetes.
- overly dry skin,
- sores that heal very slowly,
- sudden changes in vision or blurriness,
- extremely or overly hungry,
- weight loss for an unknown reason,
- overly thirsty,
- frequent urination,
- chronic fatigue,
- more infections or infections that are slow to heal,
- numbness in the feet or hand,
- and erectile dysfunctions.
That is a lot of symptoms and some are very, even overly general, but they are documented by the medical industry. For those who may be developing type 1 ( the new title for juvenile diabetes ) diabetes, nausea and vomiting, and perhaps stomach pains are to be included in the list above.
As ominous as diabetes may sound, there are some very simple and easy ways to help prevent type 2 diabetes from ruining your health. One of them is to maintain a normal health weight for particular your height and frame. A program called the “Diabetes Prevention Program” or “DPP” has shown that changes in diet and in physical activity has the ability to delay and or prevent type 2 diabetes. Since many Americans and Westerners in general are obese, this one fact can be a beam of hope for those who have a family history of type 2 diabetes. Take this to heart, and keep a watch over your weight. If you are the “couch-potato” type, you will definitely want to have a lifestyle change to help you fight what could be the onset of diabetes in your own life.
